I may bite on "Horror Express," but the reviews of this disc are so lousy I am hesitant. Thankfully, not much else other than "The Stuntman" appeals to me and I own that title already. But thanks for the head's up OP.

Re: Severin 10th Anniversary 50% Off Everything Sale

For those concerned with bankruptcy, one mitigating factor may be the fact that Severin ran a 60% off sale just last November for Black Friday. Even though I cleaned house with that one, I'll still have to take a look at this one just in case something slipped through the cracks.

FYI: Terms say it won't work on any 2016 releases, but I did get it to work for SINFUL DWARF. It will NOT work for DR. BUTCHER, tho.

We were lucky to get a true HD transfer for Horror Express at all. It's not a terrible presentation, just below average.

Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

https://severin-films.com/hurry-blow...-til-thursday/

Pick 3 for $20 Bundle

All 5 for $30 Bundle

Attention Severin fans! Our rights are expiring for PSYCHOMANIA (DVD), THE BABY (DVD & Blu-ray), BLOODY BIRTHDAY (DVD & Blu-ray), HORROR EXPRESS (Blu-ray/DVD combo) and HOUSE OF SEVEN CORPSES (Blu-ray/DVD combo) very soon! This Thursday, in fact. So, we need to do a little bit of house cleaning and clear as much product out as possible.

We’ll have two bundle listings available. There will be a Pick 3 for $20 and an All 5 for $30. PLEASE make sure you signify which movies you want in the COMMENTS SECTION upon checkout for the Pick 3. Make sure to specify Blu-ray or DVD for either bundle in the COMMENTS SECTION UPON CHECKOUT.

You can also buy ANY of these titles individually for $10.

That’s it! Easy as can be! Now go buy one of these titles and backfill your Severin catalog. Be sure to tell a friend. Tell a non-friend. Tell your grandmother. Tell your neighbor’s dog. Spread the word and help us clear out the old to make room for lots of new coming up.

Cheers.

Wow...I was just looking up Psychomania on IMDB the other day. That was a random VHS tape I found and watched maybe thirty years ago.
Tempted...

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Fantastic deal. Just bought all of these at decent prices in their Black Friday (?) sale last year, but this 5-pack pricing is just too good not to grab a couple more sets for resale. Kinda bummed about this, though, as it might be the last time we'll see some of these films on disc, especially in good special editions. Twilight Time last week, now these guys -- I suppose there'll be a lot of this kind of thing in the years ahead.

Horror Express is essential for Peter Cushing fans.

Not sure if you are Region-Free but BFI is releasing a BD/DVD of Psychomania next month over in the UK.

This could be why Severin's rights are expiring.

For $6.70 apiece ($33.50 shipped), why not?

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Thank you. I just ordered "Horror Express" because of the participation of Hammer Films stars Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. The other films just do not appeal to me. I'll receive it for 13.50 shipped.

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Horror Express is a lot of fun, and one of the few films were Lee and Cushing work together on the side of the angels. If you do not have the film already and love Hammer horror, you should definitely pick up the release at this price.

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Of course... I just purchased Horror Express 4 months ago... for $18.50 'cause that was the cheapest I'd seen it sell and was afraid it was on the verge of selling out (Amazon had just gone through a 3-4 week period of them not having it at all) and "needed" a good copy.

The only other one I don't own is The House of Seven Corpses so I have to decide if it's worth ordering that single title for the rather meager savings (~$4) over picking it up elsewhere. I figure I'll just order it direct and give them all the profits...

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Did anyone else receive an email from Severin after bundle order placement, asking you to verify what format of the discs you wished to order ? I thought the bundle clearly stated that with the exception of Psychomania which is a DVD, everything else was a BD or BD/DVD combo. felt strange on receipt of that email

Did not receive that email. I stated in the notes section of the checkout that I wanted Blu-Ray.

A couple of them were DVD or BD, thus the need to specify.

I'm not region free, unfortunately.

Thanks inri for posting the total - I didn't order because I hate paying shipping and figured it would be expensive, but 3.50 is quite reasonable. And that they take paypal so I didn't even have to go get my wallet....argh.
Order'd!

Re: Severin Blow-Out Sale on 5 Titles Going OOP

Thanks for the link---picked up Horror Express.

Funny story about that title for me. When the DVD format first emerged, I read an article that said that DVDs would show perfect picture quality, original aspect ratio versions of films that would be light years ahead of VHS. So, I just kind of assumed that EVERY title released on DVD would be like that. I ordered a DVD of Horror Express even before I had a DVD player, and I was so excited to see this version. I got a DVD player a short while later, and put in this DVD---only to find it was a crappy, VHS quality, full-screen version of the movie. Lesson learned!

A couple were definitely DVD or BD. You had to specifically pick.
