Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

May 29

03.00 Dude Cowboy (1941)* (WB Archive Tim Holt Western Classics Collection Vol. 1)
Time: Old west Plot: A treasury agent (Tim Holt) investigates counterfeiting and a missing government engraver at a dude ranch. Song to story ratio a bit high for me although the songs (by Ray Whitley) are well done. 4.5/10

June 03

Time: Old west Plot: A cowboy from Texas (Randolph Scott) fights against his corrupt uncle to free Albuquerque from his control. 5/10

June 05
08.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:1 The Rocketeers / E:2 The Last Empty Sky
A Canadian documentary TV show about the history of the U.S. space program. The first episode is about the attempts to break the sound barrier and to get into space and the x-series of rocket planes that did both. Lots of interview time with Chuck Yeager, Scott Crossfield and William J. Knight and great footage of the planes. The second episode covers the development of rocket engines from 1920-1957 and spends a lot of time on Robert Goddard and Wernher von Braun.

June 06
09.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:3 The High Ground* / E:4 Mercury Rising*
These two episodes cover the period from the launch of Sputnik 1 (1957) to Wally Schirra's Mercury mission (1962) covering the reaction of the US to Sputnik 1 and other Russian space missions, the choosing and training of the Mercury 7 astronauts and the details of all but one of the Mercury missions.

June 07
09.50 Rocket Science (2002) E:5 Missiles to the Moon*
Covers the period from the final Mercury mission (1963) through the early Project Gemini missions (1965) as the United States expands the astronaut corps and begins developing the skills necessary for a lunar flight as well as catching up to the Russian space program.

June 09
10.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:6 The Learning Curve*
Discusses the period from Gemini 6 and 7 (1965) through the end of Project Gemini when NASA proved that the rendezvous and docking of two spacecraft could be done and developed a successful training routine to prepare astronauts to work outside of the spacecraft. Also a couple of near disasters are covered.

June 10
11.00 Canyon Raiders (1951)* (WB Archive Monogram Cowboy Collection Vol. 2)
Time: Old west Plot: Army agent (Whip Wilson) breaks up a horse rustling gang with the help of a female sheriff (Phyllis Coates). Straightforward and fun. 5/10
12.00 Whispering Smith (1949?)* (4 Classic Westerns)
Time: Old west Plot: A railroad troubleshooter (Alan Ladd) investigates a series of train accidents and robberies in which an old friend is involved. Well acted and exciting. 7/10
13.00 Hellgate (1952)* (VCI Darn Good Westerns Volume 1)
Time: 1867 Plot: A innocent man (Sterling Hayden) is sent to a brutal desert prison for being a guerrilla raider based only on circumstantial evidence. Interesting movie, more prison picture than western. 6/10

June 11
14.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:7 Go Fever* / E:8 Ten Times Faster Than a Rifle Bullet*
These episodes provide a detailed look at the Apollo 1 disaster (January 1967) which cost the lives of three American astronauts and the resulting investigation and the development of the Saturn 5 rocket by Werner Von Braun's team which ultimately took men to the moon. Fascinating stuff.

June 12
14.50 Rocket Science (2002) E:9 We Choose to Go to the Moon*
A brief look at the development of the Lunar Module followed by a detailed account of the Apollo 8 mission (December 1968), the first manned flight to go to the moon although no landing was attempted.

June 14
15.50 The Fighting Seabees (1944) Blu Ray
Time: Late 1941 - June 1942 Plot: The owner of a construction company (John Wayne) helps to form the Navy Seabees (Construction Battalion) after he sees the light and adopts the way of the Navy. Lavish for Republic Pictures with good action scenes and the expected patriotic tone. 6/10

June 15
16.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:10 Before This Decade Is Out*
Covers Apollo 9, 10, and 11 (all 1969). The first two missions tested the Lunar Module in Earth orbit and lunar orbit. Apollo 11 was the first manned craft to land on the moon.

June 17
17.00 Come on Danger (1942)* (WB Archive Tim Holt Western Classics Collection Vol. 1)
Time: Old west Plot: A Texas Ranger (Tim Holt) is sent to arrest a woman who leads an outlaw gang and has been accused of murder but also runs into a ruthless tax collector and corrupt sheriff. Song to action ratio just about right. 5.5/10
18.00 Riders of the Sage (1939)* (Mill Creek Western Collection 250 Movie Pack Disk: 7)
Time: Out west Plot: A cowboy (Bob Steele) goes to the aid of his best friend who is caught in the middle of a range war between cattlemen, sheep herders and homesteaders. A little creaky but lots of action. 5/10

Covers Apollo 12 (Nov. 1969) and the nearly fatal Apollo 13 (Apr. 1970).

June 21
23.00 Rocket Science (2002) E:12 The Last Man on the Moon*
Covers the last Apollo missions, 14,15,16, and 17 (1971-1972). Although each of these provided more and more scientific information the last three scheduled missions had to be cancelled due to budgets cuts.

June 23
24.00 Flat Top (1952)* Blu Ray

26.00 Fort Osage (1951)* (WB Archive Monogram Cowboy Collection Vol. 2)
Time: Old west Plot: A wagon master (Rod Cameron) tries to solve problems with an Indian tribe which are being caused by greedy white men. Good action and Cameron is a fine, rugged hero. 5.5/10

June 30
27.00 The Wonder of It All (2007)*
Documentary about seven of the twelve men who have walked on the moon (Buzz Aldrin, Alan Bean, Edgar Mitchell, John Young, Charles Duke, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt). This is not a history of the Apollo missions, rather the interviews focus on the thoughts, feelings, and reflections of seven very different men who all had the same amazing experience. Fascinating. 8/10

XXX Film about religious history Barabbas
XXX Film about a folk hero Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
XXX Film about either the Humanities (fine arts) or Sports figure/event Shakespeare in Love

TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY

--- Watch at least two movies about the same person/event where each movie is from a different perspective (2/2)

WAR _/10
Watch at least five of the following ten War subcategories:

--- Anti-War film
--- Military Comedy
--- Prisoner of War/Escape film
XXX Resistance Movement/Civilians film Ballad of the Little Soldier
--- Submarine film
--- War Spy
--- War film that was produced *during* that war
--- Film about war criminals
--- Film about veterans after the war (framing a "flashback" film doesn't count, so no Saving Private Ryan for this one)
--- Wartime propaganda film OR a film produced by the military

WESTERN _/10
Watch at least five of these ten Western subcategories:

--- The Union Pacific story. (The plot concerns construction of a railroad, a telegraph line, or some other type of modern technology or transportation.) Wagon train stories probably fall into this category.
--- The ranch story. (The plot concerns threats to the ranch from rustlers or large landowners attempting to force out the proper owners.)
--- The empire story. (The plot might involve building up a ranch empire or an oil empire from scratch, a classic rags-to-riches plot.)
XXX The revenge story. The Revenant
XXX The cavalry and Indian story. Stagecoach
XXX The outlaw story. Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
--- The marshal story. (The lawman and his challenges drive the plot.)
--- "Export Western" - a Western not actually set in America. There have been numerous Westerns set in Australia, for instance. Samurai films could count for this, too, given the relationship between the two genres.
--- Western movie with a direct connection to a TV show, since Westerns were part of TV's golden age before the Space Generation
--- Neo-Western (i.e., a Western set in more contemporary times, to demonstrate the genre is still alive)

ZEITGEIST WILD CARDS
Because an argument can be made that some movies which fall outside the "obvious" scope of our challenge really are consistent with its spirit, you're permitted to watch and check off up to three optional movies of your choice.
--- Zeitgeist Wild Card #1
--- Zeitgeist Wild Card #2
--- Zeitgeist Wild Card #3[/QUOTE]

--- The empire story. (The plot might involve building up a ranch empire or an oil empire from scratch, a classic rags-to-riches plot.)
-X- The revenge story. (The plot often involves an elaborate chase and pursuit, but it may also include elements of the classic mystery story.) RANCHO NOTORIOUS

-X- Neo-Western (i.e., a Western set in more contemporary times, to demonstrate the genre is still alive) THE BRAVE ONE

--- Zeitgeist Wild Card #2
--- Zeitgeist Wild Card #3
