Element 4k Ultra HD TV(w/Amazon Fire TV built-in)

According to the email I received from Amazon it's supposed to be available on June 14,2017(at least w/the 43 inch version).

Since this looks like a new product ,I bet it will have bugs galore.

On the other hand ,people that have trouble w/Amazon Fire(stick or TV) at least this should solve the problem.

I was looking to finally purchase a 4K TV and this might be the one.

I don't know much about this new Element Fire TV. But if you're looking for a smart TV, I'd recommend checking out the Roku TVs.

I have a TCL Roku TV in my bedroom and I love it. It was super cheap and has a great interface. I have the 1080p version, but I know they make 4K models. Their new 2017 TVs should be coming to market soon.

Also keep in mind that Amazon's Fire TV doesn't have Vudu or any other UV streaming services.

That's a deal breaker for me.

That and the fact that this TV doesn't support HDR or Dolby Vision. No thanks. But that lack of UV support is a big deal for me.

The 2017 models seem like that have potential to be outstanding. And damn, those prices.

2017 TCL P-Series & C-Series HDR 4K Roku TVs with Dolby Vision Launch

TV shoppers looking for high performance at low prices will be thrilled to know that TCL P-Series and C-Series 4K TVs are HDR capable with support for Dolby Vision. These displays use the Roku smart TV platform with the C-Series consisting of edgelit models with a super-slim profile while the P-Series concentrates on image quality by using 72-zone FALD LED blacklight.

Roku OS integration means that these TVs provide access to over 5000 channels worth of content. Notably, all six models in the two series support Dolby Vision HDR.

“With more Dolby Vision as well as generic HDR content now available through the streaming content providers, TCL is delivering premium products with leading technology like Dolby Vision and the Roku OS,” said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL. “Consumers are hungry for bigger screens with best-in-class picture quality and TCL is meeting both of those needs by leveraging Dolby’s deep expertise in bringing advanced technologies from the cinema to the home in our newest TV models.”

Dolby Vision offers viewers HDR that includes dynamic metadata, which tells the TV how to adapt to what’s showing on screen for maximum picture quality. Roland Vlaicu, Vice President, Multi-Screen Services Video, Dolby Laboratories noted that “We are excited to partner with TCLto make Dolby Vision more broadly available than ever before.”

Prototypes of these TVs were shown at CES 2017. I am very encouraged that these displays—in particular the P-Series, will bring the benefits of HDR with WCG and a premium Dolby Vision viewing experience to consumers at heretofore unheard of price points. $999 for a 65″ 72-zone Dolby Vision-capable HDR TV is amazing, considering the technologies contained within including the excellent Roku OS.

The C-series comes in 55″ (55C807, $699), 65″ (65C807, $1099) and 75″ (75C807, $1999) sizes. Meanwhile the P-Series will ship in 50″ (50P607, price TBD), 55″ (55P607, $649), and 65″ (65P607, price TBD*) screen sizes. At launch the 55″ P-Series will sell for a promotional price of $599.

Of course, waiting for initial performance measurements is prudent. But, if TCL P-Series TVs delivers what the specs hint at, these TVs are going to be hot stuff!

Preorders of the 55″ 55P607 will be available from Amazon.com starting May 26th.
