Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"

I just noticed that PlutoTV is now available to install on my Roku 3.

https://channelstore.roku.com/details/74519/pluto-tv

Watch free TV on your Roku. Download now to enjoy news, sports, movies, music, TV shows, viral videos, cartoons more of the entertainment you love. Enjoy exclusive TV channels like After School Cartoons, Surf Network, Classic Movies, CNET, IGN, The Onion, NBC News, MSNBC and tons more!
PlutoTV is free - programs have commercial breaks. Less annoying than Crackle, less obtrusive than Flashback 80's. I'm currently watching the MST3K channel, and when the show breaks for commercial, PlutoTV plays 2-3 ads. The only complaint right now is that the show volume is significantly lower than the commercial volume.

http://pluto.tv/guide/ for a list of all available channels - looks like more than 100 right now.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"

I checked it out when it was first released a few months ago. Back then it was a glitchy mess that would freeze the box and require a hard reboot. But I tried it out again a couple days ago and it works better now. Still a few bugs, but no major problems.

The MST3K channel is great. But looking at that channel list, there's a lot of stuff missing on the Roku app.

I prefer Pluto on my Fire Stick for that very reason.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"

Pluto's Roku channel has gotten pretty good recently. They overhauled the UI, and it works really smoothly. There are a lot more channels and the content is much better.

Pluto TV signs deals with Lionsgate, MGM, Warner

Free online video network Pluto TV said it has signed agreements with premium content providers such as Lionsgate, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and Warner Bros. that will bring thousands of hit movies and TV shows to its users.

Pluto TV said these new partnerships will provide its viewers with free access to movies such as MGM's “Silence of the Lambs” and “The Usual Suspects,” and Lionsgate's “Haywire,” “Brothers” and “Bad Boys,” as well as TV shows such as Warner Bros.'s “The Ben Stiller Show” and “Super Fun Night.” Other titles will include MGM's “The Birdcage,” “Thelma & Louise,” “Mad Max,” “Dances With Wolves” and “Lars and the Real Girl.”

Pluto TV's new partnerships also include content from CNN Great Big Story, Hearst Entertainment, Al Jazeera Entertainment, The Orchard, Defy Media, Machinima, Studio71 and Tastemade. These will add to existing partnerships with Fremantle, Endemol Shine International, Yahoo!, CNBC, Cheddar and Mashable.

The new content will expand programming on Pluto TV channels such as The Crime Network (ch. 504), Horror 24/7 (ch. 709), technology channel The Feed (ch. 301), Funny AF (ch. 250) and Action Movies (ch. 704).

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"

I haven't watched it in a while.

Do they still have that crappy wrestling channel? It's too bad they can't get some legit old school wrestling instead of the stuff that's been recycled(or something) from YouTube/Film On TV.

I still think XTV( Roku Private channel) is the best Roku channel.

The last two times I checked out the Wrestling Channel, they had TNA PPVs. Yesterday was Lockdown 2011 and right now it's Final Resolution 2006.

I just checked, and it's available on the Roku. On the left side, you can switch between the Live TV channels and the On Demand library.

I've been exploring Pluto since XTV went away. Interesting so far. Miss my ability to watch a random episode of Seinfeld before bed though

FYI, Pluto TV has just added a 24/7 Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares channel.

It's all uncensored too, so you will Gordon saying F bombs and shit as well.

Hope this doesn't mean the end of the free Stadium channel.

re: Pluto TV - "The best channel you're not yet watching"

The only channels I ever watch on Pluto TV are the MST3K and RiffTrax channels.

Which other channels are worth checking out?

If you like pro wrestling, check out the Impact channel. They have classic TNA PPV events.

I swear that they are showing way more commercials on this station lately. I can't deal with it any more, even for free.

I was just going too say the same thing.

A 90 minute movie has 2 hours of commercials.

Perfect programming for the cord cutters.

So a 90 minute movie takes 3.5 hours to watch?
