I'll keep watching, but I didn't really care for this first episode.
I'm usually okay with style over substance, but this was just too much. It was style, in service of nothing.
The entire hour+ episode could've happened in 15 minutes without losing much.
Sure was pretty though.

Yeah, it was a slow start that didn't really pay off in the first episode, but hopefully will in the future. I wasn't blown away, but it's set up enough to keep my interest for a few more episodes.

I complain (a lot) about the awful music used in TV shows, so I was thrilled when the Jane's Addiction snippet played (and it was so well-placed).

Damn, that pilot must have cost a fortune to produce. I wonder if they will maintain the same high level of production value in subsequent episodes.

The episode was heavy on style, and not much else. Should have been half the running time.
What really brought it down was just how bad it looked when the real time action was going on. The use of the mutant powers in that fight just looked terrible.
Really enjoyed seeing Hamish as a main character. He was great it that short lived The Crazy Ones series.

I dont think any of that actually happened. I think the last real part was him living in his sisters basement. The rest was delusion/fantasy. Which is why I think they shot it like that.

Well, that was interesting? Confused at times, but I'll continue watching a few more episodes to see if it picks up.

I really liked this!
I thought I was watching a Wes Anderson directed episode for the first 30 minutes.
I thought the acting was great, and Cousin Matthew doesn't give a hint of his English accent. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Didn't follow everything 100% of the time, but I enjoyed the journey. Also they did a good job executing the escape battle as a "oner" at the end of the episode - though they likely snuck an edit in there somewhere.

He did well covering his accent in The Guest as well, with a slightly different accent than he has here.

Holy shit, I thought that was amazing.
Think about it- in a world where mutants exist- someone who has a superpower to change reality itself could easily be misdiagnosed as mentally ill.
It will be interesting to learn what the extent of David's powers are. Who's that fat, strange looking guy who's always watching him? It looked like Mojo.

I doubt it's Mojo - pretty sure it's the one truly evil personality inside of him.

Finally saw this tonight and thought the episode was killer. My girl Aubrey Plaza is in it, so that was cool.
I guess they're cleaning up Legion, because in the comics he initially looked like Wayne Static:
He was never a good guy -- always an anti-hero and villain.

I'm not sure they can be true to the original character. He's a really messed up tragic figure and the genesis of his problems weren't caused by his own actions. I'm not sure where FX is going with him. It's like they picked a character that had no chance to be in the movies so they can have free reign.

I finally got around to watching Legion and thought this was a very interesting pilot. They didn't dumb it down for casual audiences, you had to pay close attention the entire way to keep up with what was happening.
The comics have always played fast and loose with Legion's powers. He's always as powerful as the plot needs him to be to work.
