OK, this could potentially be the best film ever made.

Well that was unexpected. I kept waiting for the joke. Which I'm grateful never came.

I'm thinking that's why this post has so few views/comments. Folks see the name Peele and think it's a comedy or some shit. Hell fucking no it ain't.

Huh, I was laughing pretty much the whole time. This is supposed to be a serious thriller? Yikes.

It was kind of funny to me too. The whole play on the creep factor of the crackers cuz the brotha is there and the whatnot.

It's not a comedy for sure though. Kind of feels like something that would be made years and years ago. Hope it's good. Would be nice to see something like this work out.

I thought it was more fucked up than "funny" but whatever. I wonder how many white folks are going to get pissed that the fine white girl got herself a black boyfriend? The youtube comments are hilarious and fucked up all that the same time.

Blumhouse made it, too, so it's a low budget film that looks great in terms of production. I bet it makes double its budget opening weekend. It's also being released in February, which happens to be Black History Month.

Cha-ching! $$$$$$$$

That's the funny for me. The fucked up factor.

I'm sure some white people will be offended by this, good. The thing about that is whether this turns out to be good or not. Cuz then how it is remembered in context and after affects to what kind of impact this film could have.

At the same time... I can see this failing easily. That's just the genre though.

I get the impression that there is a layer of very dark but deadpan comedy in the film, so I can see why people might think the trailer was funny. After all, I can't imagine Peele wouldn't inject humor into the movie on some level. That said, I found it more unsettling than anything, and I can't wait to see this!

I am going to make a call right now that
Spoiler:
the daughter is in on the conspiracy and winds up betraying her boyfriend as a final twist

If not, then I hope the movie ends with him repeating the act being performed upon Allison Williams in one the season premieres of "Girls".

In an interview, when asked about how funny the film is, he said something to the effect of it being no more funny than Scream.

Don't take too much credit for that - the trailer clearly implies that.

I'm getting a sort of "The Happening" vibe from this. I really hope not.

Reviews from Sundance for this were pretty strong, and it comes out next week so bump.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/get_out

They also comment on the balance of horror/comedy/satire which was fairly obvious in the trailer, but I think we're so used to them hitting us over the head that it was tougher to tell for sure
