Fubo TV to offer a skinny bundle

According To Yahoo TV ,the service which began in Jan. 2015 as mostly a pay soccer streaming service is going to offer more sports channels among the other main channels offered elsewhere for 34.95 for 70 channels. Included will be Fox Sports 1,NBA TV and Fox's Soccer Plus. Beta begins in January.

I dropped Fubo TV a few months ago because it was too expensive and some of the channels offered were available on Direct TV and Charter.

Re: Fubo TV to offer a skinny bundle

Well, I don't know who here has Fubo. It's actually one of the more expensive live TV streaming services, but they just dropped all the FOX Sports RSNs

https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/fubo...orts-networks/

Here is a statement from fuboTV about the loss of Fox Regional Sports Networks:

In May 2019, Fox divested its regional sports networks (RSNs), which were ultimately purchased by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Standalone rates for these RSNs are not consistent with fuboTV’s mission to provide value and keep costs low to consumers. As of January 1, 2020, these networks have left fuboTV, like they have with other virtual MVPDs. Despite these changes, fuboTV continues to be a sports-focused cable TV replacement with home team coverage in top markets. fuboTV’s carriage of regional sports networks includes full coverage in Chicago, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay area and Boston, significant coverage in New York, and we are the only vMVPD with home team coverage in Houston. Additionally, our base package features more than 40 channels that carry sports and over 700 local broadcast stations. We’re also the only vMVPD streaming live sports, including Super Bowl LIV, in 4K. fuboTV remains the best live TV streaming service to follow your home team throughout the season.

In case you had no idea this service existed, the prices start at $54 per month

They don't carry any Disney owned channels. So no ESPN or ABC

Fubo dropped all Disney owned channels on cable today as well like FX, FXM, Nat Geo

It seems that the sale of FOX owned FX, FXX, FXM, and National Geographic to Disney has caught up with fuboTV. Earlier today fuboTV dropped the now Disney owned networks FX, FXX, FXM, and National Geographic.

Update: BabyTV has also been dropped from fuboTV.

Update #2: fuboTV has sent Cord Cutters News the following statement:

In 2019, Fox divested its entertainment channels, which were purchased by Disney. As of January 1, 2020, these networks have left fuboTV. Over the last 18 months, fuboTV has added dozens of entertainment networks to its base package, including leading channels from AMC Networks, Turner, Viacom and Discovery. fuboTV remains a leading platform for the best movies and TV shows across every genre – from comedy and drama to nature and reality – both live and on demand.

I don't know if anyone here subscribes to Fubo.

From the looks of things, I guess not.

But here's some news:

A week after filling in a major gap in its network portfolio by signing a carriage deal with Disney, FuboTV is raising its prices and saying goodbye to 11 WarnerMedia channels, including TNT, CNN and Cartoon Network.

As of 12:01AM ET on Wednesday, TNT, TBS, CNN, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, truTV, HLN, TCM, CNN Espaņol and CNN International are expected to go dark on Fubo. The internet-delivered pay-TV bundle added the portfolio two years ago.

Last week’s Disney announcement added ESPN, ABC and several college sports networks to Fubo’s offering on the eve of major sports’ planned resumption. When that deal takes effect on August 1, Fubo’s base price will increase to $60 a month, from $55. Other packages will also increase.

In a statement referring to the “termination” of Fubo carriage, WarnerMedia did not appear to be leaving the door open for a deal. “We are disappointed that our deal with fuboTV is not being renewed, as we have been working with them and were open to a potential renewal,” the statement said.

“In order to continue to provide the most value to our customers at a reasonable price point, we will not be renewing our contract with WarnerMedia,” a Fubo spokesperson said. “Despite these changes, and with the upcoming launch of ESPN and Walt Disney Television, fuboTV’s sports-focused cable TV replacement will offer a market-best 43 of the top 50 Nielsen-ranked sports, news and entertainment channels in our base package.”

The loss of TNT and TBS will deprive Fubo viewers of the NBA and Major League Baseball in the coming months.

WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, the subscription streaming offering that launched in May, is planning to incorporate live sports and news as soon as 2021. But linear carriage for WarnerMedia networks remains a key revenue driver and an ongoing priority as the company balances expansion into direct-to-consumer streaming with its lucrative pay-TV distribution partnerships.

While Fubo’s footprint is small, at 315,789 subscribers as of the end of 2019, it competes with WarnerMedia parent AT&T. The telecom and media giant has been a player in internet-based TV bundles since 2016, when it launched DirecTV Now, which it renamed AT&T Now.

During the 2018 antitrust trial of the government’s lawsuit seeking to stop AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner, rivals testified that the merged company could punish competitors and, therefore, consumers. Warren Schlichting, a former Dish executive who oversaw the company’s Sling TV internet bundle, said the combined AT&T-Time Warner could use its “clout” to force Sling to carry more networks than it wanted, boosting higher prices. Adding networks and costs, passed to consumers, “breaks our model,” he said.

Only 315K in subscribers. That's very small.

Re: Fubo TV to offer a skinny bundle

I subscribed to Fubo for one day

Last year, a 49ers game was exclusive to the NFL network and a local broadcast channel, which I did not have on Hulu.

So I did the 7-day free trial to watch the game and immediately terminated my account after the game was over.

Niners won, so it was worth it haha
