steelbook extravaganza at Zavvi - 12/1/16
Zavvi is running a sale with tons of steelbooks.. 3 for about $27 USD (works out to $9 a steelbook)! Be careful, many are region B locked.... still, for those with region free players and like steelbooks....includes region free Creature from the black lagoon in 3D!
http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/offers/...20-bluray.list
also, many non-steelbooks, too... but thought the steelbook prices really stood out to me.

Thanks for the post, I took a look but sadly all three of the ones I want (Princess Bride, Byzantium and Nikita) are all Region B. So basically, I would be chucking (or giving to somebody) the discs (I do own all of these in Region A though), and buying it for the case solely. It's a shame, I'm really digging the Byzantium case. Oh well.
Edit: But I haven't gotten around to ordering their Jessica Jones steelbook which is still available(keep telling myself to wait for the stateside release)...must stay strong...lol.

Even if these are Region B, the artwork sometimes makes it worth the effort to have a multi-region player.
Looks like some MoC titles, too.
Thanks, OP! I just might buy some movies this holiday season.

It's going to be hard for me to order from Zavvi again. Got really burned on my last order. My Ben Hur arrived smashed up, literally like someone took a hammer to it. I never received Ant Man which I really wanted and preordered.

Yeah, I hear you. I think I read somewhere that the powers that be said that Agent Carter wasn't getting a season 2 release in the US. Hopefully we will see one for Jessica Jones. Personally, I preordered both from Zavvi.

Slightly off topic, but I just picked up a second-hand copy of Second Sights' steelbook for Re-animator - was this issued with a booklet? I've gone to the SS site and Amazon UK's listings, no mention of a booklet, but I've learned that's not always 100% reliable. Thanks in advance! --Peter

Well, I tested Zavvi a few times and I have been pleased. That's not meant to discount anyone else's negative experience. I ordered and received "Jungle Book 3D/2D," "The Huntsman 3D/2D" and the exquisite lenticular edition of "The Rocketeer"—all arrived in pristine condition (knock on wood). I love these things even though you have to treat them like fine china. The 3 for $20 deal was something that I couldn't resist even though I own the standard editions of a few of them. At these prices I don't think I am taking a big hit by double dipping. I think it works out to around $75 USD for 9 titles—around $8.33 a title. I'll probably get a decent amount in trade to defray some of the cost. Most of the 9 titles are Region Free. But I also have "Fright Night" "Children of Men" and "Enemy Mine" on order which are Region B locked so I intend on acquiring a Region Free player by years' end. This is what I ordered:
The Great Gatsby 2D/3D - I already own it but will likely trade existing copy.
American Graffiti - I already own it but will likely trade existing copy.
Buried
Wild at Heart
300: Rise of a Nation 2D/3D - I already own it but will likely trade existing copy.
Horns
The English Patient - I already own it but will likely trade existing copy.
The Corpse Bride - I already own it but will likely trade existing copy.
Out of the Furnace

The Jessica Jones steelbook is down to £19.99 now (in USD w/shipping and paypal fee, it was $27.40 for me), considerably cheaper and reasonable. Since it's a long shot this will ever show up in the US...I plunked down for it. Glad I waited a while.

I played around with the currencies. I only have American dollars but proceeded to pay in pounds and it looks like I spent less than if I had paid directly in dollars. No conversion fee on my debit card, either. Saved a tiny amount of money, but better than nothing.

Yeah, I was gonna bite on the "Back to the Future" steelbooks, but I already own the Target Exclusive steelbook set. I probably would have weakened had the first movie still been available at that ridiculously low price. I did nab the three lenticular Spider-man steelbooks....Not only do they have the lenticular magnets, but each is embossed. Beautiful steelbooks at a "steal." I feel very lucky that I have been able to grab so many of these steelbooks for well below their original prices. I own a region free player now, but nearly all of the region "B" titles play on my Panasonic Blu-ray player with the remote trick. Only four titles will not load: "The English Patient, ""Good Will Hunting," "Dracula, Prince of Darkness," and "Alien vs. Predator Requiem." However, some might see the last one as a blessing. These were all £6-£7 purchases so I kept the domestic versions as well since one of my players is not region free. I simply added self-stick, clear rubber hubs to the inside of each case and I pop the Region A versions in as well. [StoreSMART® Clear CD / DVD Solid Rubber Hubs with adhesive back.]

Re: steelbook extravaganza at Zavvi - 12/1/16
Yeah, I've ordered quite a few Zavvi steelbooks and they all came in single white boxes regardless of how many were on the order. Miraculously, only one came damaged (knock on wood) and one was lost in the mail. In both instances, Zavvi replaced the items. I have no complaints. In my opinion, you really can't argue with their pricing or service. However, I am wondering how long they can continue offering these steelbooks at prices lower than the standard releases. Every morning I grab my coffee and visit their site to see if any OOP titles are made available by limited stock. Typically, those last a day at best and then poof! they disappear. Some of these steelbooks are absolutely gorgeous with lentis, embossing, glossy, etc....Most of the titles I have purchased were priced between £5.99 and £9.99. And except for a few exceptions, region free or playback enabled via a Panasonic Blu-ray player using the remote tricks.

Flight of the Navigator (a movie I dearly loved growing up as a kid) is down to 8.99 pounds for the Steelbook, came to $14.80 USD w/shipping and paypal. I never was one for the original poster, so this steelbook looks fantastic to me. And yes, it is region free with English subtitles.
By the way, I had ordered Silent Hill and Rising Sun in Steel as part of their 2 for 12 pounds sale and got them in last night. Both of them are awesome looking. Yes both of them are region B but I already had the American discs so I'm not missing much. Zavvi keeps impressing me, the first order I had was a little rocky and took nearly 4 weeks. But these last three they have all knocked out of the park and have arrived in less than 2 every time. And every time (knock on wood) the steels have been undamaged.
