Huge news for me. I've been wanting these movies on Blu-ray for years. Anyone want to buy my Salem's Lot DVD...

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

For me, this was one of the best Stephen King adaptations. Since its been many years, I can't wait to revisit it again on Blu-ray. It makes me a bit sad as well considering the fall of one of its stars, Lance Kerwin. Back in the late 1980s or early 1990s I was walking with friends in Venice Beach CA and we spotted him walking alone and looking rather down and out. I had grown up watching him in "James at 15" and of course, "Salem's Lot." It was pretty sad to see. Unfortunately, It doesn't look like he ever really got his life back on track.

I knew about It but not the other ones. I've been waiting for Cat's Eye, I remember getting freaked out by it as a kid but haven't seen it in probably over 25 years. And I've never seen Salem's Lot and was recently thinking that I wanted to check it out.

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

I haven't seen IT since it originally aired on TV back in the early 90's, but I still remember it was a disappointing miniseries with a terrible ending. I don't think I would buy it.

I vaguely recall that Salem's Lot was a 2-part TV miniseres and got a theatrica/extendedl cut for home video. I don't think I ever watched it from start to finish.

I did see Cat's Eye on VHS years ago, but I don't think I've re-visited it since.

I don't know, maybe I'll get 2 of the 3.

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

I'll definitely get Salem's Lot. Possibly Cat's Eye. Pass on It; I already have the 3-pack of It, Salem's Lot (remake), and The Shining (miniseries), and that's enough for me.

Might have to start up a Stephen King collection on blu-ray. I have The Shining. Need to pick up Carrie (Scream), Dead Zone, Christine, Pet Sematary, and a few others like Cujo. Mostly interested in the pre-90s stuff.

Hrm. Looks like Dead Zone never came out in the US? Weird. Seems like it being a Stephen King movie and a Cronenberg movie would have gotten it a release.

I'm wondering if Salem's Lot will be presented in it's original two part format or edited into one long 3hr+ movie like the DVD.

CAT'S EYE was released a few years ago as an Italian import, which I think has an excellent transfer. I wonder how this new US release will stack up against that import.

American, was it the old mini series (1979) or the newer one(2004)?

Weird. The only place I've been able to find any of these is Amazon... and I only see the "collectible t-shirt" edition of IT. You'd think less than a month before street date, they'd have these all available for pre-order. I wonder if there will be a 3-pack.

As mentioned a few posts above, Barnes & Noble has them for pre-order right now for $8.44 a piece.

Weird. For some reason, none of them were showing up for me this afternoon on BN.com. Now, tonight they are. I'll order all 3 this weekend.

When I saw the thread title I thought this was going to be a 3 pack. I probably would have bought that. Now, I'll wait for the price drops.

Given the many other similar 3 packs I would say there is very good chance. I'm betting on it and waiting them out.

As of today, I only see CAT'S EYE at B&N for 8.44

The other two Blus do not even show up in a search at that site... Are they gone?

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

FYI, bn.com has this annoying thing where the search will only show one format for a movie, so for example, when you search for Salem's Lot, click on the DVD and then you will see a listing for the Blu-ray (and VHS!) as well.

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

Has anybody received theirs or gotten shipping notices?

Cat's Eye and Salem's Lot both say Temporarily out of stock online and IT states Item is available through our marketplace sellers.

I was hoping Best Buy would have these at a simliar place but all are Backordered: Usually ships in 3-4 weeks.

Re: It/Salem's Lot/Cat's Eye--9/20/16

I wonder if Storm of the Century (ABC) will ever come to blu-ray. ABC also did the Shining re-make.

Did ABC do any other Stephen King movies?
