Keep getting script errors...from this site?

i seem to only get this script error when i play on this site for a little bit. no other site is affected like when i am on this. it asks me to debug, continue or cancel. i've tried them all and nothing works. it freezes and i have to restart my PC. now, i don't even know what a script error is truth be told, but it is annoying.

so is this error likely because of this site or is it my PC?

any more info. you need, just let me know.

thanks in advance for help with this frustrating problem...

I use Firefox and I don't have any errors with this site. I assume you reboot your machine regularly? Firefox can be pretty memory leaky and have issues sometimes, so a reboot fixes it for me some of the time. Have you tried clearing out the cache in Firefox? Click History/Clear Recent History and check the box for cache and Offline Website data. Change the time range to everything.

Thanks Vin. I cleared some stuff. No error today but I wasn't on that long. I don't know why it only happens with DVD Talk...

I get it on my fantasy baseball site when Firefox is getting memory leaky. This site doesn't load nearly as much crap as my other site, but sometimes if it's been open a long time you can get the script errors. And after that your cache is all jacked up and needs to be cleared. At least that's been my experience with FF.

You might want to consider uninstalling Firefox, rebooting and reinstalling it. The program might be jacked up.

Will I lose all my favorites and form data and such? Why does it only happen on this site in particular? Thanks for this help Vin!

You can back up your favorites.

Click Bookmarks, show all bookmarks, then click import and backup, then click backup and save the file someplace.

If you have to restore them, you do the same process, just instead of backup as the last click, you choose restore.

Honestly, I think your bookmarks will be there in the same place anyway if you uninstall and reinstall, but back them up first just to be safe. I really don't know why this site is giving you trouble.

Can you post what the script error is, exactly? Maybe the results of the debug option?

Re: Keep getting script errors...from this site?

I usually keep the DVD Other talk page open and while I don't get script errors, twice so far (in about a weeks time) the DVD Other talk page has suddenly gone to (website address)
Spoiler:
http//lossyourweightnow.com/?u=gvdkd0x&o=5ewr3qv&t=tgdt#
And when I try to click the back button to get back to DVD talk, it will change into some other promotions site or something.

My malwarebytes scans nightly, and it always comes up clean. My antivirus scanner ran recently and that came up clean as well. I have even tried clearing the sites cookies. I keep a lot of tabs open on my browser - sites I visit daily - and this is the only one ive gotten this issue with (I use Opera Browser). It makes me wonder if theres a possible link between the script error Oldboy is getting and the page issue ive gotten?

Skyclad, Oldboy, I'll have tech look into this. Slow scripts are one thing, but they definitely shouldn't be causing these issues.

Re: Keep getting script errors...from this site?

Oldboy, it's potentially an ad causing the script issue. That's why it's only happening some of the time. We're continuing to look into it. Could you make note of any ads on the page if/when you get that pop-up window again?

Re: Keep getting script errors...from this site?

This just started happening to me. I'm getting the same message that Oldboy posted, except the script is different: http://cdn.viglink.com/api/vglnk.js:21. I'll assume this is from an ad also?

Re: Keep getting script errors...from this site?

It seems to have stopped. Was freezing everything each time I refreshed or switched forums. But is okay now.
