Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Anyone here subscribe to Horror Pack? It's a monthly subscription box where you can choose either Blu-ray, or DVD movies. You receive 4 movies each month (there has been one double feature, and one triple feature so far in the Blu-ray releases). It looks like the Blu-ray packs started in October of 2015, and after watching different unboxing videos the contents so far have been...

Code:
Hatchet II
Alien
Grace
Quarantine
Shaun of the Dead -SB
Silent Hill Revelation
The Awakening
Scream 4
Vacancy
Rec 2
The Collection
Evil Dead (Remake)
Kill Kate Malone
Piranha 3D
Burying the Ex
Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies
30 Days of Night : Dark Days
Forget Me Not/Red Hook/House of Fallen
Wrong Turn 5 : Bloodlines
Dream House
Possession
The Messengers
Zombie Diaries 2
Flatliners
Hostel/Hostel 2
Rise of the Zombies
Woman in Black
Night of the Demons (Remake)
Volumes of Blood
Wolfman
Digging Up the Marrow
The Final Destination
The boxes are available while supplies last, and they end the current box on the 15th of the month then start mailing them out at the same time. The June Blu-ray box is supposed to have a brand new limited edition (first time on Blu-ray).

I ended up doing the 3 month subscription to try it out. I looked over the releases so far, and only had 5 of the ones so far. There are numerous codes for $3 off your first order (ITFOLLOWS, JOINTHEPACK) or subscribers have a referral link for $3 off.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

I've seen people unbox them on YouTube before. They seem like most of these subscription packs out there and are very mixed. Most of the titles in them aren't things that I'd really go out of my way to buy but to each their own I suppose.

~$6 a film, and the choices seem like things I'd typically take a chance on at that price. But that's also the problem, as I already own a lot of the films in the unboxing videos.

I wonder what the 12 month plan bonus is.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy just the movies you were interested in?

Of course, yet mystery grab bags have existed forever.

It is a Blu-ray copy of Pan's Labyrinth - Limited Edition Mondo X Steelbook. One of the unboxing videos showed it.

It's not a bad package of films, though the service isn't for collectors like myself. I already own the first three movies. This would have been a great service for me a few years ago.

Sleepwalkers has always been an underrated movie.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Overall, I was pleased with the package. Despite being a pretty avid collector, I actually didn't own any of the films. I'll give it at least another month before deciding to maybe cancel.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

I haven't seen a shipping notice or tracking information yet on the July box, but they did post the clues for the blu-ray box.

"This anthology installment features magic, tech, and a demonic good time."

"Technology and voyeurism collide in this modern horror thrill-ride."

"This sequel to a horror classic has been decades in the making."

"When children start to go missing, you never think it will happen to yours."

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

If I was a betting man, I'd say:

V/H/S Viral.

Open Windows.

Psycho II, The Rage: Carrie II, or Return to Sleepaway Camp. (Only horror sequels that I can think of that came out two decades or more after their predecessor. Based upon what I've seen out of past boxes, I'd aim for Sleepaway Camp.)

Some shitty direct-to-video movie.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

V/H/S Viral, and Open Windows were guesses on their facebook page, as was 13 Cameras, but I don't see that 13 Cameras is available on blu-ray yet.

I haven't seen any of the V/H/S series, and of the ones mentioned for the "decades in the making" I own the Sleepaway Camp DVD box set.

I did see some unboxing videos for the DVD boxes (Carl was the limited edition exclusive), and I think at least a couple for the blu-ray box (but I didn't watch them yet. Hopefully mine shows up tomorrow.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Once again, I didn't own any of the films delivered to me, so I'm all right with what I received. Always good to have more things to watch come October.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

Two straight months where everything would have been new to me. But of course, if I join now it'll be mostly repeats from here on out....

Here's the link btw, don't think it's been posted here yet.
https://horrorpack.com

Any subscribers here get a kickback if I subscribe thru you, or maybe a current discount code?

All of the codes (referral/coupon) get you $3 off whatever you sign up for. That can be 1 month, 3 months, or 12 months subscriptions. I think if you use my referral I get $3 off my next bill. I'll send you the referral link in a private message.

FYI, Netflix currently has V/H/S Viral (plus the first two), and Open Windows. In August, 13 Cameras is being added.

Thanks! I'm trying to resist, too many unopened discs as it is, but if I subscribe I'll use your link.

Re: Horror Pack Monthly Subscription Box

The August Horror pack has shipped out. The clues for these are...

It never goes well when man refuses to stay dead.
Re-animator, and Pet Sematary (but that wouldn't be man refuses).

There is no shortage of blood draining from the artifices...
any SAW movie, Vampires: Los Muertos.

Advice comes from the strangest places - particularly when murder is involved.
Voices, Beyond the Mask.

This tree dimensional nightmare is really gonna leave a mark.
Scar 3D, Paranormal Activity the Marked Ones.

The guesses from the HorrorPack facebook page are in italics. I would say that Re-animator, a SAW movie, and Scar 3D are good guesses judging what's been in the boxes in the past.

That's pretty cool even if straight Horror is not really my genre...it's a shame nobody has done one for Sci-Fi/Fantasy...I'd probably sub in a heartbeat. (At least for a little while anyway)

Is Scar 3D an actual 3D BD or is it just with the cheap glasses?

This was my first month that I received something I already own. Not too bad.
