Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply within
The game's plot focuses on Maxine Caulfield, a photography student who discovers that she has the ability to rewind time at any moment, leading her every choice to enact the butterfly effect. The game will consist of five episodes

Spoiler:
I figured this game deserved its own thread, instead of being stuck in the XO thread where no one's paying attention.
Episode 1 came out in January, and was awesome.
Episode 2 came out this week, and I just finished it, and it was INTENSE.
The music in this game continues to impress me. And the easter eggs / references / etc. are all top-notch. Like this one, from Episode 2...
Spoiler:
If I have minor complaint about this game, it's that the voices never match with the mouth movements. It's like they didn't think it was important. It's not a deal-breaker, but it can be kind of frustrating. I just watch the characters' actions instead of their mouths.
A bigger complaint is that, with all the focus (HA!) on photography, I really wish the game allowed the player to manually take the photos themselves to add a bit of customization to the action.
What I DO like (a lot) is, when exploring your surroundings, the characters almost always have something to say, and it's always spoken, not just text. It adds a level of realness that I appreciate.
Anyway, this game, so far, is awesome. In the first episode, I didn't really struggle with my choices, but in episode 2... man... there's some choices where NONE of them seem like the right move. Nail-biting stuff, I tell ya!

It's on my wishlist. Hopefully it'll be discounted during the Steam Summer sale and I'll pick it up then.

Any difference in getting a last gen or current gen version? The latter just looks..... sharper? or what?

While playing episode 2, my wife
She's pretty torn up about it, and is now in the process of replaying both episodes to see what she can do differently, in general.

For those playing on PC or Xbox One, you should be able to download and play the game at 5:01pm Pacific Time tonight. All other platforms will have it unlocked on schedule tomorrow.

Damn this game has some dark shit going on. In Episode 3, I...
This is turning out to be one of my top games of the year. It has its flaws, but those are easily overshadowed by the story, pop culture references, and choices you have to make.

I love this game! I just started playing it yesterday after watching some people playing it on Twitch. It's Telltale plus Quantic Dream, but more player agency than Telltale and fewer quick-time events than Quantic Dream (that is, none).
I played several episodes of Game of Thrones earlier in the day (it was a slow day) and it just magnified the differences comparing it to that game, where you're basically on rails regardless of your choices.
I like the little touches in the game that make the characters feel three dimensional, like how Warren is a good guy but at the same time clingy and subtly patronizing, like how he offers to explain (mansplain) "Primer" to Max, despite the fact that she's smart enough to work it out on her own.

It's $15.99 on Steam. I'm so tempted to get it but with Batman coming I'm not sure when I'll get to playing it.

NewEgg has the PC version on sale as part of a Square-Enix sale, $2 for the first episode and $6.80 for the season pass. Newsletter subscribers get a code that's an additional 15% off, so I picked this up for $7.48 total.

Looks like it's been this cheap before but never saw it. Looking forward to giving this a go since I'm light on things to play at the moment.
