Prison Break -- Season 5 coming to FOX in 2017

http://www.eonline.com/news/613405/f...21271768835678

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are ready to head back to Prison.
Six years after playing brothers Michael and Lincoln on Fox's hit series Prison Break, the actors are reuniting on the CW's The Flash as villains Captain Cold and Heatwave. But when we sat down with the pair at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour, Miller and Purcell revealed that they are ready to bring Prison Break back from the dead.
"We actually floated the idea to Fox very casually and they seemed very not casual about this interest," Miller exclusively tells E! News. "They seemed to think there was something there."
20th Century Fox TV declined to comment.

While Miller and Purcell are definitely in for a potential return, they've yet to reach out to any other cast members, with Miller saying, "We haven't reached out to anyone just yet. It's just baby steps at this point, early stages."
But "It's something that Fox is, as Wentworth said, potentially excited about," Purcell says, with Miller quickly adding, "Maybe definitely excited about. Maybe definitely."
Prison Break wouldn't be the first beloved series to be revived by Fox as 24 returned as a limited series event last season, "a model" Miller could see the show following.

Ummm, spoilers but if you go on the movie, one of the main cast members wasn't around anymore to where he could reprise his role.

No thanks. I thought the first season was fantastic. But they were really grasping at straws in season 3 and 4. Definitely went on longer than it needed to.

It's not like he was shot or something. He had a terminal brain tumor. If they brought him back from the dead it would be beyond incredibly lame.

Not only that, but he was supposedly electrocuted while trying to help Sarah and Lincoln escape from that prison in the 2 hour movie.

Re: FOX interested in reviving Prison Break according to Wentworth Miller

The first season of Prison Break was fantastic. I enjoyed all of the subsequent seasons too and liked a lot of the actors/characters, although admittedly the show sort of strayed in the later seasons.

I'd rather they bring back Breakout Kings which was sort of a spinoff off of Prison Break given the appearance of one character in particular. That's an easier show to keep going than Prison Break because honestly I'm not really sure where they go from where they left off, especially with the death of a central character.

Would love to see Robert Knepper return as T-Bag though. He was amazing in that role.

Well, if they can bring back Heroes they can bring back anything, I guess.

I enjoyed 24 coming back. I'm cautiously optimistic about Heroes coming back. Prison Break is a whole different thing. The 2nd half of S1 wasn't as good as the first half, but still good. S2 onward was a downward spiral with steep descent.

Fox hasn't beaten this dead horse enough? Someone call PETA on them.

Never seen the DTV movie. But I thought the last season was pretty good. Season 3 was terrible though.

The DTV movie is on Netflix in season 4 and labeled as episode 23 (89 minutes) in case you ever care to watch it.

That actually sounds almost exactly like Heroes...

Like Heroes, S1 was brilliant but S2 onward were severely compromised by network intervention.

I loved this show, all of it, despite how ridiculous it was. I'd watch some more.

Some shows are worth bringing back. This however isn't one of those shows.
Great first season, the rest were average at best.

Same here.

Given the events of the whole series they really can't do much to continue the story. There isn't anything they can do to place the new series in the middle of the events in other seasons. So I have no idea what they could be thinking as the premise for another season.

T-Bag in S1 and S2 was great. S3 and S4 though... better to have killed him off. Same goes for William Fichtner. Awesome in S2. Worthless in S3 and S4.

I fully support bringing back Jodi Lyn O'Keefe any way they can.

Re: FOX interested in reviving Prison Break according to Wentworth Miller

The prison setting/dynamics was 90% of this show. So S1 = great, after they broke out = bad. S3 was just a pathetic attempt at re-creating the magic of S1, and I don't see how any other such attempt could be successful.

Re: FOX interested in reviving Prison Break according to Wentworth Miller

According to the article, Miller and Purcell were the ones that "casually" pitched the idea to revive it. Really doubtful the 2 actors would be involved in the creative process, so unless they can find a writer/producer/showrunner to elaborate this pitch into a series that makes sense creatively, this idea sounds iffy at best.

Wentworth, prison, is this a remake of that Australian show?

No disagreement there, but I find myself more open to the premise of Heroes continuing than I am Prison Break.

Prison Break spoilers...
Spoiler:
Not a big spoiler I know, but some people may not have seen (or read about) it yet... To me, once they broke out, that was it. Everything else was just stretching it out. I could have seen a wrap up Season 2, but that's about it.

Heroes didn't want to let go of Sylar, and gave some heroes too many powers, which meant the plot had to be silly to control them. I'm more (cautiously) optimistic all that stuff can be fixed. Who knows if it will be. I really enjoyed the best of Heroes.
