I'll have to wait until I'm out of work to watch that video but I don't think the people that made it know was "conspiracy" means.

In the video posted above Milioti responds to widespread speculation that The Mother has been dead the whole time Ted is telling the story with "That's insane."
Case closed?
Actually, she does not deny that The Mother is dead. And she could honestly be labeling the act of speculation itself as "insane," as she almost immediately goes on to say that it is "crazy" that viewers care so much about the show to analyze it like it was Lost.

Whatever, when it's revealed that they're in purgatory and all that mattered were the people they spent time with at MaClaren's Pub, then we'll talk.

I think someone questioned at the beginning of the season why Lily wasn't passed out drunk yet...

So Marshall gave up being a Judge? That seems like a short-sighted decision.
Also... the weird vibe that Robin gave off when her mom asked her if she had anyone that was always there for her when she needed.... Its like she was thinking of Ted at that moment... probably off on that.. but it seemed like they went out of there way to show Barney isn't always there for Robin.

Oh Jesus fucking Christ. Three episodes left and they're going to rehash Ted and Robin again!?
Ha, yep, totally. Doesn't explain why the rest are completely sober with the way they've been sucking down the scotch.

The mother is dead. She killed herself after watching that waste of an episode.
Why rehash the ted/robin shit?
I thought we were done with the will they/won't they go to Paris bullshit.

I'm still not sure on the whole Ted/Robin thing. In some regard, it seems like they are still playing that angle and something is going to happen. On the other hand, we've seen future Ted and future Mom and it isn't Robin.

And they are back to season 7 level garbage. The first half of this season had so much promise but it's tanking so fast. I just want it to end at this point.

We already know that Marshall became a judge. Remember when he lost a race in the future?
I don't think they are rehashing Ted and Robin. That Robin scene was weird, but I don't think she will look for Ted. And Ted already gave up on her, remember that episode?
Anyway, two more episodes. I guess next week is the normal 30 minutes, and then the finale should be a full hour.
... so we can have a proper funeral.

I echo the disappointment. That was a lousy, almost joke-free episode. And while we're at it : why would Lilly want to have an alcohol-free drink in her hands at all time -- besides to fool the audience?

Maybe the last episode will have a coda where Zabka beats up Carter and Bays in the parking lot.

I don't know if this was posted last week, but while a little too invested (hello, pot), this Vulture piece made some good points at the state of the show at this point.

OK. New theory:
The mom, we just met, has died... this explains the "what mom wouldn't be at their daughter's wedding" line.
Ted has reunited with Robin and even though she never wanted kids... as explained to Kevin (Kumar/Kal Penn).
Robin plays with and loves Ted's kids... as seen in the pictures they drew.
So...
Hereby....
Robin and Barney have either broken up or never married... as Barney is seen to be his usual self in the future scene from Trilogy Time.
Thus...
The reason Ted is telling the kids the story now is...
That he and Robin have rekindled the tiny spark... as seen in nearly episode over the last three years.
So the reason he is telling the kids his story in 2030 is because Ted/Dad is introducing Robin as a stepmom and is getting remarried to Robin.
By going over every detail, he is not only being thorough, he is letting the kids now why he is "moving on."

What if.. instead of the thinking that something happens to the mother.. What if its Ted? Maybe Ted is somehow seriously ill or injured and in a coma... His retelling of the stories is his bodies/minds way of dealing with it as his friends and wife sit at his bedside talking to him trying to get him to wake up . It could be another way of looking at the line from the mother in the future where she says "I don't want you to be that guy living in his stories. Its time to move on." Or that line is meant for Ted to accept that he's passing on and she's telling him to let go. Granted, it doesn't mesh with some of the scenes earlier in the series... But could be an interesting twist.
I'm curious to see the ending and then wonder if the writers will ever discuss if they changed anything after the way the series played out or if they used what they were going to end the show on from the beginning.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - "Daisy" - 3/10/14
The writers are aware of all the rumors. Were aware. They know most people don't want Robin and Ted together at the end.
Remote possibilities, but I think it's more possible that the mother dies than Ted and Robin end together.
Maybe I'm the only one that they are going the traditional route. And the last shot is the Ted, mom and the kids together.
If the finale is one hour, yeah, maybe she has cancer or something, she's going through critical surgery, but she survives at the end.
