Disney's Frozen - 3/18/14

Looks like the only exclusive listed so far is that Walmart's version will come with some sort of music bundle. Not sure if it's the soundtrack or not.

No doubt we'll see an onslaught of store exclusives when this gets released.

Initially, I believe Walmart is the only store to offer the 3D version.

At one point Amazon had a 3D preorder up, but now it's no where to be found and people are reporting that their preorders have been canceled. So I bet that is the case. Or they are pulling the same thing they did with Oz and doing a 3D only release that they don't have a product page for just yet.

EDIT: And now it looks like Walmart pulled their 3D listing as well. So who knows what the hell is going on with the 3D release with this one now. But since it's the second highest grossing Disney animated release next to The Lion King, you can plan on Disney milking every penny out of the release as possible.

Re: Disney's Frozen - 3/18/14

^ as far as I can tell the UK version is the 3D/non-3D combo pack (and supposedly region free - of course this could change) (have this on pre-order)

there's some murmurings that now the 3D version is a Best Buy exclusive, not a Walmart exclusive.

A quick visit to the Best Buy website and I see they have an entry for a Frozen 3D due March 18 for…GULP…$59.99 retail. No idea if any of this is true, but it looks to be likely.

Sigh, I sure am getting tired of all this exclusivity crap.

That cover reminds me of how they marketed the movie, de-emphasizing the fact that the story revolves around the sisters.

That's true, it's just funny to see Sven and Olaf front and center and Elsa off to the side.

Although an email from Disney Movie Rewards shows a different cover from what's in the first post. It looks closer to the UK one with Sven, Olaf, Anna, and Kristof in the same pose but without Elsa and the Prince on the side, but with Elsa at the top using her magic.

Is this proof that we're not getting a 3d disc version in or region, or just conjecture by the writer?

Wal-Mart has a pre-order page for the 3D version but they're listing it at $59.99.

You mean Best Buy. Walmart no longer has a 3D listing. The price on a Best Buy's listing has dropped. I'm sure it'll be no higher than $29.99 on release day. Hopefully it'll be $24.99, but I won't hold my breath.

EDIT: That listing may indeed be for the import. Disney, according to a rep who responded to my complaint, "[has] no information about the 3D release of Frozen [at this time]." I will cease purchase of Disney products indefinitely.

I don't understand how this movie was so popular when it looked average during the trailers.

To you it's average, to my kids and millions of others, this movie was nothing short of "the most awesomest movie ever!" That's why it's popular. Not to mention the marketing and toy campaign that went along with it.

The trailers were abysmal. The movie is, however, very good. Not the second coming like some proclaimed, but very solid.
