I betcha some of those are delayed because they are being made into 3D versions.

Tarzan is available in other parts of the world. I believe Mulan, Hercules and Hunchback rumored for early next year elsewhere too. I remember those from a huge thread on another site, but don't remember which one.

Thanks, guys. Fixed. I brain-farted and put Home on the Range instead of Brother Bear.

At the beginning of this year Atlantis and Brother Bear were rumored for October release. That obviously hasn't happened.

Why oh why did they push back Aladdin so far (although yeah the decision was made a while back). At least Peter Pan is near.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases

Aladdin was originally scheduled for this spring release, but apparently they changed their minds and decided to do Peter Pan instead because of its 60th anniversary. And Little Mermaid is locked into the fall slot because of its theatrical 3D release.

I know! I didn't buy the bare-bones DVD, because of the rumored special edition, and then I didn't buy the Big Wave edition because by then Blu-ray was out, so why would I buy a DVD? I've been waiting 10 years to see this movie!

There's talk of a 3D release for it, which would explain the delay. However I believe this is still coming out overseas next year.

Because it is the only format the movie is currently available on? There's no guarantee it will be on blu-ray anytime soon if ever. Plus, you're a Disney fan and you live in Hawaii, how can you not own it?

I have the bare bones, but otherwise I am the same. I was down for the special edition but by then BD had hit my house.

Good to know. I watched the DVD the other night thought about checking for a foreign BD. The DVD still looks pretty good, but this is near the top of my want list. I'm burnt out on the early 90's classics(just seen them way too many times). I'm more interested in Tarzan, New Groove, Atlantis, & Lilo, these days. An underrated quartet of great films.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases

I've had the barebones release of Lilo since it came out, and held off on the special edition expecting a Blu-ray release to come a lot sooner then it did.

Lilo and New Groove are my favorite Disney movies, so i'm super bummed they're not even scheduled yet.

New Groove is quite an underrated classic, for sure.

Why so long for Aladdin, dammit?! I've held off on buying the DVD, thinking it was coming until next Spring.
