Fairy Tail

Is anyone else watching Fairy Tail?

This is my favorite series right now. Last night's episode was an epic finish to an excellent story arc. They just seem to be doing everything right with a great mix of comedy, drama, action and brisk pacing.

Here's some streaming links:

It's a fun series from what I have seen of it.

It's a decent show but it's lacking depth.

This

Its fine for what it is. But before I saw it I was expecting more. Mainly due to people comparing it to Naruto and FMA. I dont see that at all. I think its more along the lines of something like Rune Soldier. A fairly lighthearted, paint by numbers affair.

Re: Fairy Tail

The current arc is awful. Easily the worst of the series. 100% filler junk.

I'm looking forward them getting back to the manga storylines. The current manga arc is awesome. It's a giant tournament with all the guilds. Lots of new and old characters. Epic battles.

They anime version had to do a "filler" story arc because the anime story arc was starting to get a tad too uncomfortably close to the continuing manga story arc. Yes, I know it's not that great, but I believe they're going to pretty soon go back to the manga story arc--especially now that the manga storyline is actually quite exciting and interesting.

Love the song. It's the same one they're using for the current opening. The full version comes out next week.

Re: Fairy Tail

I'm so glad that lousy story arc is finally over. It's like they were making it up as they went along. It was a twisted mess of complete nonsense.

Looks like they're going straight into the Grand Magic Games arc in the next episode. Can't wait to see it.

The problem is that the Grand Magic Games story arc is still not complete in the original manga version, though we now know that--

Spoiler:
We now know the origin of Acnologia--the terrifying dragon we encountered some time ago--was once a human. And there is a possible strong connection between Acnologia and the dark lord Zeref. The newest chapter has added a major new twist to the current story arc, too.

Re: Fairy Tail

Probably one of the most generic series I've seen in years, and way too much worthless fanservice.

It seems like there hasn't been a truly excellent Shonen series in at least five years (and realistically, much longer, since Naruto, One Piece and FMA all began in the nineties).

You know the industry must be stagnating when they're actually remaking classic shows (DBZ: Kai, Hunter x Hunter, the rumored Kenshin remake)

Re: Fairy Tail

I can't believe the Fairy Tail manga has ended. I've been reading it every week for years. So sad to see it go.

Re: Fairy Tail

I've read that the final season of the Fairy Tail anime is coming in 2018.

As for the manga, I was disappointed with its final chapter. Mashina did an AWESOME ending for Rave Master (as Rave is known in the USA), and I was hoping for something similar.

Re: Fairy Tail

I got bored and stopped watching around ep 130. Did it ever improve or was it more of the same?

It improves, but for the most part is it just more of the same. If you weren't hooked by 130 episodes, I doubt anything will change your mind if you picked it back up.

I'll definitely watch the final season that is set for next year though because I've enjoyed it enough to see it through to the end.

Final season? It's friggin' long way from that last episode to manga's finale. It just need 3 or 4 more seasons to complete. Unless, they decided to skip some chapters.

Question to everyone who read manga -

What do you expect the ending?

Re: Fairy Tail

The big joke is that nobody dies in this manga, ever, they just cry about people but they always turn out ok. I'm not sure if the author is making a joke about that in the final chapter but if not, geez.

"Nobody" means Fairy Tail members? Or whole characters in Fairy Tail including enemies and friendly clubs?

Erza's mother killed herself.

Mainly Fairy Tale members (or budding allies)but that last chapter includes a special screw you to Death.

The main problem I have is that Mishima continually writes scenes where someone makes this huge sacrifice, people mourn them, and they bounce back like nothing happened. He does it again and again and again to the point that, like Marvel comics, you don't even blink when someone is killed because it won't last.
