No movies at our Costco now, either. It's just bizarre. Where else do I buy 900 pounds of baby back ribs for the same price as Citizen Kane?

My local Costco(s) no longer have DVD's, CD's or video games

Costco hadn't really been competitive on media pricing in a long, long time. The writing has been on the wall for a couple of years they were getting out of the category.

Ditto with our Costco and I think Sam's is closer to doing the same (if they haven't already).

Movies on disc is fast becoming a dying breed. Streaming is becoming the new norm.

Sam's here dropped all media and video games over a year ago. They'll put out a couple of free standing displays at certain times of the year with seasonal titles at not-so-good prices and that's it.

I think within 2 years physical media will only be available at used stores & on the net; other than maybe the top 20. What still stuns me is that a low bit rate 720 video stream looks much better than a higher bit rate dvd. Lossy files for audio suck big time; but for engineering reasons over my head that is not the case for video. And on a nationwide basis, Brick & Mortar is pretty much down to Best Buy & Target (both said to be discontinuing cd's); Barnes & Noble & Walmart.

Costco had one blu ray "Coco" A display of it. Didn't even have the price stickered on it.

Yeah I saw the same. I was hoping that there would be copies of Thor too, as the other major Disney release, but no dice there,

Yeah just the Coco display when I was there last weekend, only the BD pack too. I might have bit on the 4K as an impulse buy if they'd had it. I'm still waiting on my $24.99 backorder from Amazon.

This was the first time at this location that I didn't see at least a few BDs and DVDs over by the (now) 3 tables full of books!

My local store had both Coco and Lady and the Tramp in a cardboard display. This was before the Thor release day so I don't know if they added that or not. But I suspect they did. I figured they would still bring in these family movie new releases since that has always been their core BD/DVD focus.

Costco just seems to sell Disney discs. So there was a Star Wars - Last Jedi, a Marvel - Black Panther for about $23, and a bunch of 2nd tier Disney for $8.99

Same at my local store this past weekend. A couple weekends ago they had all the previous Marvel Universe movies instead of that animated movie selection. Not terrible prices for those that don't already have them.

Re: Costco discounts and deals on Blu-ray

A friend put me on her Costco card months ago. I've been their 2 or 3 times since than; I purchased a total of 2 food items.

Sadly I missed a $5 each clearance sale on all sweaters by 1 week.

I was thinking about buying a phone there, but my carrier warned me that Costco's phone center tends to scam people (& the carrier's rep was not suggesting I buy directly from them; in fact he recommended Best Buy!). I ended up buy a used LG V20 in mint condition at less than 1/3 of retail & so far am living happily ever after.
