Re: Best Buy DVD prices (May 6th - 12th, 2012)

Thanks John/snausages.

One day I'll own the new Underworld movie, but not until it's made its rounds and is selling for well under $10. $17.99 is WAY more than I'll pay for a no SE DVD.

I'm intrigued by Game Of Thrones, I've read about it, never seen it, but understand it's supposed to be really good. Having said that, I can't see myself ever paying $40 for a season of it. Of the series I own, I don't like to pay more that $15 per season if I can help it (and I usually can). So I guess I'll be waiting awhile for this too.

Other than that, nothing of interest to me in this sale. -kd5-

"Game of Thrones" is honestly one of the best television series I've seen in a very long time and it really is nothing like anything on TV. It has more in common with "The Lord of the Rings" than anything on TV. $40 is probably not the cheapest you'll ever seen it - but I doubt you'll ever see it below $25 (it is HBO).

Re: Best Buy DVD prices (May 6th - 12th, 2012)

Also posted this in BB Blu, but..........

Hit the local BB today. The entire Blu & DVD music sections were empty. I asked a clerk what was up, & he said he didn't know. The only music vid left was the live Adele Blu'cd combo & some Lady Gaga Blu both racked with the cd's. Don't know if they're moving them, or no longer carrying music vid.

it was also quite frustrating that this store did not have today's sale prices posted.

Okay.

Moderator don't flag this, let it slide. It's part of the overall buying experience.

This is a link - the list of Best Buy stores closing.... clicky.

Some of the remaining store are to be downsized by 20%. The test stores are in St. Paul, Minnesota; San Antonio, Texas and Minneapolis. They also plan on opening "Connected Stores" where they will only sell mobile phones (and accessories), tablet computers and e-readers.

Where do you live MooMooMooMoo, part of the downsize?

Or it could be they're reconfiguring the music into another category, like what they did for Sci-Fi.

Seems to me the more they downsize their stores the fewer people will be inclined to shop at them, and so on and so forth, until Best Buy is just a bad memory. -kd5-

Tacoma, Wa (40 miles from Seattle). AFAIK, they're only closing 1 store in Wa, & it's a couple hundred miles away.

For now, it appears to be a pilot program. Best Buy lost a lot of money when they bought "Napster" in 2008 ($121 million).

Re: Best Buy DVD prices (May 6th - 12th, 2012)

For those that want to get Wrestlmania 28 on either Blu-Ray or the standard DVD version, my suggestion is to get it quickly as numerous stores are selling out of both formats and at that price and this being one of the WWE's most popular titles going around, I'd grab it. Had a hell of a time finding it in my store but found it, as there were just two copies left of standard and one in BD.
