Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (November 2012)

We all know it's coming, although "officially" it hasn't been announced.

From IGN:

Amazon may have outed the existence of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

According to a report from French site GameBlog (translated by IGN host Naomi Kyle), Amazon France posted a product page for Black Ops 2 and soon pulled it from the site.

Making things more interesting, a follow-up post, from GameBlog claims that the site was later asked by Activision to remove news of the listing. After refusing to do so, the site was reportedly told "not to present themselves" at a Transformers: Fall of Cybertron event that they'd previously been invited to.

This follows a report earlier this year that Activision had purchased blackops2.com. Activision has already confirmed that a new Call of Duty game is coming this year, though the exact title of that game hasn't been confirmed.

I'm in... although I like the MW version of these games much more than CoD.

Black OPs was better than MW3 on the multiplayer front

I prefer the battlefield series to both MW and Ops when talking about multiplayer.

Let's hope the story's better. Man..that was kind of boring. I liked playing the SP but...I wasn't engaged by the story. WaW was pretty badass.

I preferred MW3 to Black Ops, but I still haven't played it as much as I had anticipated. I might be done with COD games for a while.

I was not very good at Black Ops MP, so therefore it's MP is inferior to the MW games.

This series is getting as bad as the Madden games. Year in and year out they all just feel like the same game. I've played them all and I couldn't tell you the story line of any of them. Halo I remember, Half-life I remember, Borderlands I remember, COD?, not so much. That said I'll probably still get it.

I have lost interest in the franchise. However, if you make a couple of billion dollars each COD game, you make one every year no matter how sucky it might be. I sure don't blame them, that is alot of damn money.

What this poster said, only I won't be getting it. Period. Sad thing is, millions of others will waste their money and it'll convince Activision they can keep releasing 'expansions' to a game that came out in 2007, at $60 no less.

Why are FPS's so lazy and uninspired these days? The only FPS series that has me intrigued whatsoever is the Bioshock series.

I'm intrigued by Borderlands and definitely want to check it out when I get the chance to.

Crysis 2 doesn't interest me much though. Yay, more rugged space marines fighting aliens warfare. *Yawn*

The game seems like more of a technical achievement than one that has something interesting to say. I haven't played it though.

Unless there are some huge changes.....I'm done as well officially this time - seriously though, I think MW3 is great and easily the best one (And I didn't think they would be able to top Black ops) but the mulitplayer has finally reached its end for me.

It's probably the best of the recent first-person-shooters. Yeah, technically, it looks amazing, but it plays really well too, and lets you play it how you want, either stealthy, like a tank or a mix. The AI is really good, unlike the CoD games, it's paced really well; it has plenty of over-the-top "oh shit" moments, but they're spread out enough so when they come, they actually feel like something. Even though it takes place in NY, it's still pretty varied as to locales, good selection of guns/vehicles AND enemy types. As if that's not enough, the campaign is twice as long as a CoD campaign, without wearing out it's welcome. Try it, you'll like it - it starts off okay, but really picks up half-way through. It's also worth replaying as you get to do that with all your power-ups retained.

The story is lacking (like most FPS games) but the biggest downfall of the game is the first couple of hours. It doesn't really get good until you start fighting the aliens. Once they showed up I couldn't put it down. Tied for GOTY'11 for me with Rayman Origins.
