Hard to imagine this series in B&W but that would certainly cut down costs. The only other Image compendium I have is The Walking Dead, which is obviously no help here.

I'm only reposting what people are saying on the Deviant Art forum. The publisher themselves say it will be the "first 48 issues", so if that's 1024pgs in this format, then it probably is.

I'm constantly amazed at how many pages these omnibus/compendium/definitive collections can squeeze in.

Saw this in an LCS today. Massive! Issues 0-47, and 1000-some pages. I already have the HCs, which I consider the ideal reading experience, but if I were just diving in I might get this like I got the Walking Dead Compendium.

I just put in a big $350 order (yeah I know, I went overboard but I rarely do this on TPBs) @ Cheapgraphicnovels.com and this is one of titles I order. I'll be posting a mini-review as soon as I get it.

Was it in B&W or in color?

Damn, I wish I had seen this before collecting all the TPBs. I like them, but this would have saved some dough.

I'm not a fan of these ginormous hardcover compendiums. Too bulky, hard to read on the crapper or in bed. I've been collecting INVINCIBLE in TPBs for years though, and that's the day I plan on continuing.

Why this hasn't been turned into an animated show is beyond me... great serialized storytelling with clearly defined story and character arcs.

Minor point, but I think it's in PB. Still, I agree on the readability. That's how I read the Walking Dead, and it was a great value but I'm going with the TPBs from here on out (partly because I don't want to wait for the next compendium). As I said earlier, I love the HCs of Invincible.

Hey David, I saw Kirkman's new series the Infinite at my local store today, have you checked that one out? I don't tend to buy the floppies, but it was tempting.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with that one. I did read the new series that was in FCBD, Super Dinosaur or something, and wasn't knocked out. I tend to not go for the floppies either, and haven't even been in my LCS since the DC relaunch. On the other hand, waiting for the TPB can take a long time. I ordered the Guardians of the Globe TPB eons ago and the date keeps getting bumped back. Ah well, I'm not in a huge hurry to read it.

Yeah, I'll just wait for the TPB I think. Going into a shop can be sooo dangerous.

I just ordered the Tech Jacket TPB, so I'm pretty excited to check that out. (BTW, any idea why there are two listed as Vol 1's with different names (Lost and Found and the Boy from Earth) but the same cover and page count?)

Last floppy I bought was Invincible 79 (or 78--it was whichever came after the last TPB) because I couldn't stand not knowing what happened. With that done, I can wait for the next TPB.

Interesting question about Tech Jacket but I don't know much about the character or series. I'll probably pick up that trade at some point, though--Capes too.

Yeah, I have Capes on my list.

Also, speaking of giant collections, I just got Bone complete in one volume from gohastings. It looks like it would have been in perfect condition if they hadn't shoved it into a mailer, but still a great deal for that. (well, assuming I enjoy it anyway)

When the first TPB came out it was more of a manga-size thing and in black and white. The newer one is regular size and in color, like the original issues were.

Not sure why they have different names.

Cool thanks! The one I have on the way says it's the newer version, so that sounds good.

Thanks, majorjoe! starman, let us know how it is.

My Guardians of the Globe just got bumped again, sigh. But at least it hasn't been outright canceled like one of the Invincible HCs was (#6 maybe). My order was canceled, then I only saw it was back on sale because I was surfing the site.

Sadly this was a victim of gohastings and got canceled today. (and it was less than $2)

Sorry David. When is the next Invincible TPB due? Maybe it will win the race.

No date that I've heard, which means it has a good chance.

I was going to ask if Kirkman was on Twitter but I just found him (@RobertKirkman). Pretty sure I couldn't find him before but I'm still pretty new to Twithood.
