What movie would you remake?

Remakes, reboots, they're all that Hollywood seems capable of making sometimes. Some remakes/reboots turn out great(The Thing 1982) but some are shit(The Thing 2011). What movies would you remake?

I can't think of many movies that I would want to see remade but one that comes to mind is Fantastic Four. Dumbish movie and they really fucked Doctor Doom's character. I think it could've been much more epic but it turned out to be mediocre.

Re: What movie would you remake?

Prequel Trilogy!!

No Jar Jar, young Anakin is older(recast young/adult Anakin), Maul is the main foil for Obi/Anakin until Palapatine reveals himself and he stays alive through 3rd movie.

There were good ideas and moments scattered throughout the trilogy, but just not enough of them.

Oh, and Aliens vs Predator with lots of Aliens and lots of Predators kickin' the crap out of each other!!

I was gonna say 'Humanoids from the Deep' but someone recently told it was remade in 1996 - who knew?

Invasion USA starring Jason Statham

I don't know what the status of it is now, but Warner Brothers hired Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) a few years ago to write and direct the remake of Enter the Dragon. Don't know if that project is dead or not.

I would focus more on the philosophical & spiritual nature than the gore.

Re: What movie would you remake?

The first one is perfect, but I'd love to see someone capable remake/reboot JAWS. It would have to be someone that a) respected the source material and b) understood that less is more.

As for bad movies I'd love to see remade, I don't think LOST IN SPACE was done justice.

Seriously speaking, I would love to see someone attempt an update/remake of John Woo's Bullet in the Head. That was IMO one of Woo's most underrated movies. It doesn't get as much love as A Better Tomorrow or Hard Boiled. Since the original came out over 20 years, I think it deserves an update.

I know in Hong Kong they attempted an update called "Blood Brothers" in 2007 that Woo produced

But, I think the story should be updated for an American audience.

Hudson Hawk...minus the singing and make it more of a semi-serious film.

Good one. But the singing stays. Great part of the movie.

Just find someone better matched to direct the screwball stuff.

Re: What movie would you remake?

Well I guess the above points out what a useless thread this is. 1/2 are suppose to be "funny" and the other are "who cares?" I thought I might hear one or two since I can't think of any myself. I guess to make "Drive" with an undead actor.
