It's cheap from Amazon.co.uk if you have a multi region Blu Ray player, or a PC Blu Ray drive.

If third party software is recommended, then what do you recommend? |

Wouldn't it just be easier to get a cheap Insignia player that's region free? I know Best Buy has one that's $60 and just requires an older firmware to be installed.

I'm sorry to have to ask an off-topic question, but I'm actually thinking of buying a PC Blu-Ray drive for this purpose. Is watching disks from other regions a trivial process? I'd rather not have to purchase third party software or (God forbid) rip the disk to my hard drive just to do so.

Just curious but have you compared this one with the original American release? If so, are there any significant difference s in picture quality and fidelity?

Funimation revealed it has acquired the home entertainment rights to Katsuhiro Otomo's film Akira. Bandai Entertainment had previously reissued the film on DVD in February of this year, and the most recent U.S. reissue before that was a Blu-ray Disc in February 2009 by Bandai Visual USA. Streamline Pictures and Geneon Entertainment released the film in the past. |
