Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

Haven't noticed an official thread for this game. Kind of falls in between Battlefield Bad Company 2 and CoD:Modern Warfare 2 for the multiplayer game. Its multiplayer is being done by Dice who did BFBC2 and Battlefield 1943 while the single player is by Danger Close (EA LA). I'm really looking forward to it - enjoyed the Beta - enven though it had its problems - but that is why you have a beta - to figure out problems.

I loved the beta. I thought it was a perfect balance of COD and Bad company. I really enjoyed it because it wasnt as crazy as Call of Duty Modern Warefare has become with all its killstreaks etc

Well I'm withholding judgment until there are more details. Playing as the Taliban doesn't seem too "honor-y" though.

Oh. Now I get what you mean.

Well, as far as I understand, the lead characters are undercovers and meant to look like Taliban loyalists but are actually US soldiers. Unless you mean you can play as Talibans in the multiplayer casmpaigns (I've only watched the single player videos).

I figured it had to be undercover.

Hell, MW2 featured you gunning down innocents in the airport (if you so chose to) and you played as Germans in WaW. I personally don't like to play as anything but an American in these types of games but I take it for what it is.

Actually in WaW you played as Russians in the single player. Germans in the multiplayer.

That's what I meant. I think you play as all factions... I'm not a fan of it by any means, and I'm definitely starting to lean towards the Taliban thing being a little too close to home.

Re: Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

I think it also hits close to home. But I like the fact that these tier One operators are so involved in the game - It's like the real warriors are giving their stamp of approval.

The war in Afghanistan is still in the headlines and I personally know a handful of guys who are serving over there right now. One is in special forces and is a guy I highly respect. Working in the VA I've met one other soldier in particular who was a professional warrior - no other word can describe him. I got to know him because he was having a hard time adjusting to being away from his platoon in Afghanistan. He told me they came under heavy fire and the position he was in was struck by an RPG. He basiclly had a heart attack in the middle of battle but kept fighting and still took their objective. He wanted to go back - even though he was home with his family - his real family was his brothers in arms.

Battlefield 3 Beta Invite to be Included with Medal of Honor Limited Edition

The limited edition of the upcoming Medal of Honor reboot is picking up another extra. EA announced today that the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions will all contain invitations to the beta for Battlefield 3, which is currently under development by DICE.
Battlefield 3 was confirmed last year, but few details regarding the new shooter have been released. The most recent entry to the series is Battlefield Bad Company 2, which was released earlier this year.

Buying the limited edition of Medal Honor will afford access to the beta, which is slated to begin within twelve months of that game's release. Other extras include special pistols and shotguns, with the PS3 version also throwing in a remastered version of Medal of Honor Frontline.

Medal of Honor will be available October 12 on the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

Re: Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

Has anyone noticed that Medal of Honor has changed from the Limited Edition to the Standard edition version on Amazon.com, even when clicking on the Limited edition.

http://www.amazon.com/Medal-Honor-Li...4368724&sr=8-2

My pre-order still says I've ordered the limited edition even though it directs me to the standard edition page. Do I have anything to worry about? I'd be annoyed if I got the standard edition considering the one reason I am buying the game is to get Frontline which happens to be my favourite MoH game.

If you ordered it when it was a Limited Edition, I'm sure you're fine. I usually order from Amazon, but Walmart is still showing it as the Limited Edition, and they're offering a $20 voucher, so I'm going with them this time.

If the MP is equal to or better than BC2 then I'm going to be one happy gamer.

All they did was change the name. No big deal. Non-issue.

Just remember those guys with the RPG's, AK47's, head scarves, beards, brown skin, speaking a foreign language, attacking our soldiers in Afghanistan are not the Taliban. They just called the opposing force.

Awesome. The fact that it's the Taliban makes me want to order it more, not less, and I'll do so now.

Re: Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

Please...do not refer to the enemy as the Taliban. It may force EA not to release the game due to public pressure. We will be fighting against the "Opposing Force"..... Imagine this....top video game designers making games as incredible as Bad Company 2 and now Medal Of Honor. Is this really the best name they could come up with for this game in relation to the enemy? Opposing force.... I keep saying it to myself again and again.....hey guys...I am fighting against the Opposing Force. Reminds me of our President and Man Made Disasters...hmmmmm...maybe Obama does have something to do with this after all.
