Up for pre-order. Hopefully its the same in-store, otherwise do an in-store pickup. Amazon might match this as well.

Enjoy!

Re: The Social Network 2-Disc BD- 16.99 at BestBuy.com

Here's what Blu-ray.com lists as the extras:

* Two audio commentaries:
o David Fincher
o Writer Aaron Sorkin and cast
* How Did They Ever Make a Movie of Facebook?: a feature-length documentary in four parts
* David Fincher and Jeff Cronenweth on the Visuals
* Angus Wall, Kirk Baxter and Ren Klyce on Post
* Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and David Fincher on the Score
* Ruby Skye VIP Room: Multi-Angle Scene Breakdown
* In the Hall of the Mountain King: Reznor's First Draft
* Swarmatron

Aaron Sorkin is a reprehensible drug addict and egomaniac, but he can certainly write the talky-talk with elan. ""If you guys were the inventors of Facebook you'd have invented Facebook." will probably win him an Oscar along with his far left politics. (It'll be the first Oscar partially awarded to a Emmy-winning TV show, too, if you follow.) Zingers like that are winners; I sincerely believe Damon and Affleck won for Good Will Hunting for Will's monologue about why he didn't want to work for the government and the line, "Do you like apples? Well, I got her number! How do you like them apples?"

Are you fucking serious?

Sorkin is one of the best writers living. Period. Who cares if he's a drug-fueled liberal? It probably makes him a better writer.

[And yes, I pre-ordered from Best Buy for in-store pickup. I'll cancel if Amazon price matches though.]

Is there a chance this is one of the BB exclusive releases? Similar to The Town, which was only 1 disc and very few extras.

The list price is the same as the one on Amazon at 34.95 so it should be the same thing.

Because they use this AWFUL shipping service called Stream...(I forget the rest of the name) that is a private shipping system to get it to your local zip center THEN it starts tracking using the USPS delivery confirmation number. It takes 2 to 3 extra days to deliver. So...if you're close enough pick it up

It's Streamlite, and Columbia House uses the same service. I click on the link CH e-mails me, I see that it's already at my local Post Office Dist. Center. I'm thinking "Cool, I'll get it tomorrow.".....WRONG! 3 days later it shows up in the mail. 6 days total. 6 DAYS to get from Pennsylvania to Iowa! You're right, truly awful shipping service.

They couldn't fit that on a single BR disc? Oh yeah, I forgot, everyone saying BR was amazing because it had so much more space than it's competition completely forgot that they'll split stuff up just to make it seem like more discs is somehow special.

Seriously though, I liked it but only enough to watch maybe once more and that isn't enough to buy.

But Fincher is neither of those, he's a perfectionist and you can bet your ass that Fincher improved the script.

I'll wait on this since I'm a sony rewards member, I could just get it for free if not, then I'll order it.

Thanks OP. I went ahead and used the link on Amazon's site to notify them of the lower price. Here's hoping they match.

Which part of the bolded part was unclear?

I'm not saying he's a bad writer. I'm saying he's an arrogant a-hole. That he's a good writer is DESPITE his liberalism, not because of it. Liberalism is a mental illness that leads sufferers to have delusions of grandeur and superiority, thus their constant declarations of being brilliant and anyone who isn't like them being stupid.

Whatever. I liked the movie and Sorkin's script for it. I just hope, as a person, he has his junk chewed off by rabid badgers.

2 Discs gives the illusion to the consumer that they are getting 'more bang for their buck'. It won't ever stop. The best example of this was Into The Wild on DVD where Paramount released a Movie Only Edition and one with a DVD full of Extras...that would have fit on the Movie Only Editions DVD.

Re: The Social Network 2-Disc BD- 16.99 at BestBuy.com

Even worse is when they make extras into BD-Live or downloadable content. The HD DVD of Eastern Promises had a pair of short featurettes and two more that you had to download to watch, including the one most people would want to see: the bathhouse knife fight. There was no reason they couldn't have put that 10 minutes of stuff on the disc other than wanting to show off a feature of the format. Transformers was also lame in that way.

Because why risk it getting lost or stolen, if its delivered when you arent home, when you can just as easily pick it up in store.

(and yes i had a package stolen from my doorstep just this morning, so i dont know about the person you were responding to but in my mind instore pick up is definately is a nice option when you can do it)

The movie is two hours long, and the doc is "feature length," so it's potentially another two hours (the doc on Fincher's "Zodiac" was at least that long). So that's four hours of video content, plus the other extras, whatever those add up to be.

So yeah, I'm OK with two discs for $16.99.
