Amazon Holiday Super Sale Movies & TV Deals Calendar

"Amazon.com Movies & TV"
"You heard it here first! More Lightning Deals kicking off Monday. Also, let your voice be heard: click below to vote for which Limited Edition Blu-ray you want to see at $14.99 on Dec. 16th. "

Just passing this along from my Facebook. I still can't post links it seems.

But there is a new DVD calendar up of Lightning deals this week, like it was during Black Friday week. I hope someone will be kind enough to share the link, with others.

You can find the link on Amazon's Facebook front page.

Enjoy!

Re: Amazon Holiday Super Sale Movies & TV Deals Calendar

I'm not exactly happy about this. I thought my big days of spending were behind me for this year.

Looks to be some decent deals, but we will see. I'm safe for at least the first day.

Thriller is higher than it was on the DOTD!

If you thought some BF lightning deals sold out quickly, just imagine the Night Owl or the Alice w/Film Frame set. That will be gone in 2 seconds flat! If the batpod wins, I'll go postal. That thing can be had for cheap regularly...

I thought you were being sarcastic at first until I looked at the MSRP of those two.

The Nite Owl has 49% of the vote so far, so I'm expecting it to win.

I really want that Sound of Music set, but I'll be working when it goes live.

Voted for Nite Owl ... just what I need, one more copy of this movie that still isn't the one that I want! (Ultimate Edition ... someday ...) I'll be at work when it goes on sale anyway.

Anybody want to bet that all three go $14.99? They didn't hit the goal with Mad Men, but they still marked those $9.99.

Current Score:
Alice in Wonderland 43%
Dark Knight 10%
Watchmen 45%

(I'm wondering what the remaining 2% voted for ...)

So the lightning deals have to be cheaper than the current price, correct? Some of the prices aren't bad right now:
Magnificent Seven Collection is 65% off.
World At War is 64% off and so on. How much lower can we expect them to go?

Eh... This doesn't look like anything worth losing sleep over unless you really want whatever LE Blu that wins the cheap price.

Hmmm, out of all those titles, I would be interested in Ken Burns Baseball on Tuesday, which has the recent 10th Inning addition. It would have to be $30 or less for me to bite.

No. Just less than the "everyday" price and even then it doesn't have to be "great" just lower. I've seen some that were only a buck or two less than "everyday" pricing for the lightning deal and be almost full MSRP if you didn't use the lightning deal.

I think both of these will go up in price right before their respective lightning deal goes live with the lightning deal either matching the current price or *possibly* being a buck or two less but not much more. This seems to be a trend this year. I've seen *many* sellouts (some within seconds) on items that were only marked down $1-$5 from the non-lightning deal selling price. A recent example is a CCR box set which was only $5 down from the regular price. It sold out in about 30 minutes.

Of course I could be wrong, especially on "World at War". I purchased that one a month or so ago from a marketplace vendor for ~$2 more than the current sale price as I did not expect it to drop in price much due to the new "improved" Blu-ray version and the possible scramble from people to grab a copy of a superior version before it went OOP. Because of that it'll probably go for $30 or less!

Depending on the price of Boy Meets World S1-S3 I may bite.

Re: Amazon Holiday Super Sale Movies & TV Deals Calendar

I just took a look at the "Alice" and "Watchmen" sets. WOW! The Watchmen set is incredibly cool, especially for $14.99! Even though I do not currently own a Blu-ray player I'll jump on either/both at $14.99! If both are as limited in release as "Alice" (3500 sets made) I expect either/both to sell out in micro-seconds!

After reading reviews of how cheap the Batpod is made plus not being a fan of the new series I'll pass on "The Dark Night"...

I was worried when I first saw this, then check out what was on the calendar and it's like Amazon intentionally avoided having anything I wanted up cause they knew I was strapped for cash this close to Xmas.

I already have the Dr. Manhattan version and I thought that was it for me but $14.99 for the Night Owl would be just too damn tempting...why am I such a DVD addict

I gotta admit, I want that Watchmen set, but I don't know where I'd put it. The regular Blu-Ray case would fit on the shelf a lot easier, and at $8.99, it's about half the price.

So I guess the question is, cool bells-and-whistles collectible ship packaging aside, is there any extra content on the discs themselves with this fancy version that wouldn't be available on the standard set??

Sound of Music Gift Box is $39.99 now at Costco after a $20 off. Amazon would have to beat that with their Tuesday lightening deal

Re: Amazon Holiday Super Sale Movies & TV Deals Calendar

I'd love to try and get The Watchmen Owl ship at 15 bucks. 15 bucks is absurd.

Other than that, not too many deals I'm going to be considering. Thriller might give me a consideration, but probably won't pull the trigger. Flight of the Conchords probably won't go cheap enough for me to bite. I'm pretty darn interested in the Dirty Harry collection on Tuesday, and I'll probably grab Moon and Community if it's cheap enough.

Not too interested in anything else.

The BF deals were much more attractive.

Probably end up with 2 or 3 at the most.
