Burning Bright (killer tiger movie)

This is a low budget, extremely resourceful movie that works very well.
It's almost like one of thoses 70s TV movies that gets a little too nasty. Too bad it went under the radar, it really deserved better. Great story, great acting, great characters, very suspenseful. Definitely worth checking out, you will not be disappointed. Plus, it has Meatloaf in it.

Here's the set up:
Spoiler:
The girl is set to drop off her autistic brother at the fancy school so she can take advantage of a scholarship and go to college. But her check bounces, from the account her mother, who committed suicide left her to provide for her brother. Seems her shitty step father cleaned out her bank account - so he could buy a tiger. A Bengal tiger that's been kicked out of a circus for attacking and killing a show horse, and eating it alive.
He wants to open a safari roadside attraction (sure he does).

Well bad dad traps brother and sister in his house. Oh and its all been boarded up and screwed down tight cause a killer hurricane is coming. To my eye there was barely a glimmer of CGI. They use a real damn tiger and some good editing. It takes a while to set up, but once we're in the house with the tiger, this is great fun.

I actually worked on this briefly, and considering how silly the premise sounds, it is very impressive as a stuck in the house thriller. Good acting, nice score, effective editing and good looking effects (no CGI aside from one tiger drool insert shot).

I don't believe that's true. There were definitely a few scenes with a bit of tiger CGI. Nothing horrible or distracting, though.

Good, not great, movie. Really drags in the middle but overall not a bad effort.

There is absolutely zero CGI tiger, but lots of composited shots of a real tiger shot separate from the actors, for obvious reasons.

Re: Burning Bright (killer tiger movie)

Why do they call it Burning Bright, is there a fire? I know it's from Tyger by William Blake, but Fearful Symmetry sounds like a better scary movie title.
