Saw the actual band Pink Floyd do this in 1980 at the LA Sports Arena. Not really interested in seeing a hoarse voiced Roger Waters perform this with anonymous backup singers and session guitarists doing David Gilmour's parts.

I saw his tour a couple of years ago with the DSOTM playthrough, and thought it was great. I'll definitely check this out.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I have never seen Pink Floyd live. I have been a big fan since the late 70's. When they were doing their Division Bell tour. I know I should have gone but I said next time.
Las Vegas looks like the best for me. To bad this is only Roger but that would have to do. I wonder when tickets go on sale? I did see the Berlin Wall show on tv, was that on Mtv?
I should plan a Las Vegas trip in November...

Was lucky enough to see The Wall twice at the Nassau Coliseum.Show was so good the first night me and a few friends scalped tickets to another show. This was when scalping was affordable.Hoping to take my daughter to either the Madison Square Garden or Philly show.Roger's musicians are always excellent.Even on the original Wall shows there were many non-Floyd musicians playing with the band.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
Enjoyed his show two years ago when they did Dark Side. Since Dark Side is a better recording, I'm glad I chose that one to see (they still did a couple of tunes form The Wall on that tour). I like Roger Waters more than Gilmour, but didn't realize how much he would be missed until seeing the show. I'll pass on this.
I was 14 when The Wall came out. I remember the local rock station in Indy was going to play the new album in it's entirety so I ran up to my parents' bedroom and put clock radios on both sides of my ears to hear it in "stereo". haha.... I believe it was only a month later for Christmas that I got a real stereo system. I sat there and listened to the whole thing. Man, sometimes I wish I was a young kid hearing music like that for the first time again.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
It's my understanding that the reason the original '80-'81 tour of the Wall was so limited was that there were only like 4 venues on the planet that could handle it due to the logistics of the staging and because the distance that Water's wanted between the audience and the band was integral to the "vision" of the piece. Which makes me wonder why all of a sudden he can tour it nationwide and how come he's playing the Forum in LA instead of the original Sports Arena venue.

Is there a code for Mondays Amex Gold Card pre-sale? I borrowed a gold card from a friend, do I just have to use the number to access the sale or do I need a code?

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
when CITI mastercard does a presale, the code is the first 6 digits of the card number... but I don't think it works that way when Amex Gold does one... unfortunately, I don't have one and can't answer this... anyone else?

From Wiki
Gilmour and Mason attempted to convince Waters to expand the show for a more lucrative, large-scale stadium tour, but because of the nature of the material (one of the primary themes is the distance between an artist and his audience) Waters balked at this.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
Believe me there's nothing special about the LA Sports Arena. It's a plain old basketball arena. ANd now it's a rotting hulk of it's former self that looks like it hasn't been painted in decades. There was nothing logitically special about it.
