Once again it sounds like they have one good, potentially funny story arc, and something that could ruin the entire episode.

I typed stuff up, but then my browser crashed...I don't feel like typing it all again. So yeah, I thought it was a pretty good episode, with a strong beginning, middle, and end. It was funny and had heart, which is when The Simpsons is at its best.

The chalkboard gag was great:
"South Park -- We'd stand behind you if we weren't so scared"

That's a great chalkboard gag for sure. I liked the couch gag a lot too.

I liked the wind turbine story better than the whale one. Just kind of fun to see something like that in a backyard. Bart turning it himself then storm blowing him off was funny.

Some funny lines but pretty weak overall.

Another solid episode in my opinion. The narrative has been much stronger this year, and the writers seem to be more conscious of including the minor characters into scenes.
I have grown tired of the same situations using Lisa as a crutch or plot device. How many different variations can they do of her love for nature and the environment? That plot grew tiresome ten years ago.
